Default Sequencing software

What's some good sequencing software? I just got me a keyboard and drum pad but can't seem to find any software I like.

So far I've tried FL Studio Producer 8 and Ableton Live 7, but I don't really like either of them... Not sure if I just haven't spent enough time with them yet, but they don't seem like they can do everything I want. I also tried Propellerhead Reason briefly, but I opened it and saw the cluttered interface and said 'fuck this'.

I'm using Reason now, once you get used to the interface it's a lot easier. Me and B$ tore shit up this weekend with Reason.

I personally use Linux Software for my producing... all of them are free... Ardour is the Linux equivalent of Pro Tools/ Logic Pro / Cubase etc...

Rosegarden is one of about 4 sequencers on Linux.

Hydrogen is a nice Drum Step sequncer... Linux Multi Media Sudio (LMMS) also has a nice beat/bass line editor. As a whole LMMS is on par with FL Studio. Both LMMS and Hydrogen are available for windows and Mac I believe

Almost an software will have a learning curve. My advice is try a bunch out and see which u like and which u don't.

Trial and error FTW

Man I didn't even know they made sequencing software for Linux. I'm definitely gonna have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up.

+1 for LMMS, i've been playing with it for a few days and it definitely has the same feel as FL Studio

i use fl7 mostly but imo reason 4 has the best sequencer. the only reason i don't use reason much is because it doesn't have vst support and rewiring it into a host app has never worked well for me, even on high end machines
